Monthly Accounting
Monthly accounting with a real close, not just categorized transactions.
Ashmore Books keeps the books of U.S. businesses current every month: reconciliations, Balance Sheet review, P&L review, payroll reconciliation, and financial reporting you can actually use for decisions and tax.
What is included
Every month, the same disciplined close.
Transaction coding and bank feeds
All bank, credit-card, and payment-processor activity categorized with consistent logic, with open questions raised early rather than guessed.
Reconciliations
Bank, credit card, loan, merchant, and payroll clearing accounts reconciled to statements every month.
Balance Sheet review
Loans, payroll liabilities, sales tax, A/R, A/P, equity, and clearing accounts reviewed so the Balance Sheet holds together, not only the P&L.
Financial reporting
Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and where useful cash-flow and management reports, with notes on anything that needs your attention.
Timing
Target: monthly financials by the 20th of the following month.
That target assumes required access, statements, and client responses are received timely. If something is missing, you hear about it early rather than at the deadline.
- Reply within one business day
- Questions asked early, not batched at month-end
- Balance Sheet and accounting logic reviewed every month
- U.S. hours available where the engagement requires it
- Material changes documented for your CPA
Who this is for
Built for businesses that need more than data entry.
Monthly accounting from Ashmore is designed for owners and growing companies that want month-end close, Balance Sheet control, management financials, multi-account or multi-entity accounting, payroll reconciliation, and tax coordination handled by one team.
Software
QuickBooks Online is the primary platform. Work is also done in QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Odoo, Wave, and Zoho Books, along with the payroll and payment systems that feed them.
Pricing
Fixed monthly price based on your annual revenue, starting at $80/month. Payroll, AR/AP management, and inventory tracking are quoted separately. You approve the scope and pricing before work begins. See the full pricing.
Connected to tax
Because the same team prepares the return, year-end does not restart from scratch with a separate provider.
Behind on the books?
Cleanup first, then monthly.
If the current file is not reliable, monthly accounting usually starts with a QuickBooks cleanup or catch-up project. The free Books X-Ray tells you which one you need before anything is quoted.
Every month
What lands in your inbox each month.
Monthly accounting is not just a set of statements. It is a short package that tells you whether the numbers are current, whether anything is due, and what the numbers mean.
A monthly financial package
Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and the supporting schedules behind them, delivered on a set date rather than whenever the work happens to finish.
Balances that are actually current
Payroll, loans, credit cards, sales tax, and other liabilities reconciled and brought up to date, so the Balance Sheet is not carrying figures from months ago.
Filing deadlines watched
Payroll tax and sales tax filings checked against the books, with a reminder before something is due rather than a discovery after it is late.
Commentary in plain English
A short written note each month on what the numbers show and what changed, so you know where the business stands without reading every statement line by line.
Common questions
What owners ask before signing up.
The questions that come up most often about monthly accounting, payroll coordination, and reading the reports.
Our payroll is outsourced. Do you check that the filings are actually up to date?
Yes. Payroll processing stays with your provider, but the monthly work includes reconciling payroll to the books and confirming that the returns that provider is responsible for have been filed and that the liabilities have cleared. That covers the quarterly and annual federal employment tax returns, state withholding and unemployment filings, and the year-end wage forms. If something has not been filed or a liability is still sitting open, you hear about it in that month, not a year later.
What do I actually receive each month?
A monthly financial package with the Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet, the supporting schedules, a short written commentary on what the numbers show, and a note of anything that needs a decision or is coming due. Reconciliations, payroll, loan balances, and liability accounts are brought current before the package goes out.
What if I cannot read financial statements?
That is common and it is not a problem. Every monthly package includes a plain-English commentary, so the statements are explained rather than just delivered. If you want to go further, a Financial Review can be added on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, which walks through the numbers with you and covers what is working, what is drifting, and what to do next.
When do the financials arrive?
The target is the 20th of the following month, assuming access, statements, and answers to open questions are received in time. If something is missing that would push the date, you hear about it early rather than at the deadline.
Do you also handle sales tax?
Sales tax liabilities are reconciled and tracked as part of the monthly close, and the filing deadlines are watched so nothing slips. Preparing and submitting the returns themselves is scoped separately, because it depends on how many states and jurisdictions are involved.
Which accounting software do you work in?
QuickBooks Online is the primary platform. Work is also done in QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Odoo, Wave, and Zoho Books, along with the payroll, payment, and e-commerce systems that feed them.
