Our specialization
We fix the books other bookkeepers don’t want to touch.
Years behind? Broken Balance Sheet? Missing records? Prior books cannot be trusted? CPA says the books are not ready for tax? That is where Ashmore becomes especially useful.
Years of missing books
Historical accounting can often be reconstructed from available source records.
The bank matches, but the Balance Sheet does not
Reconciliation does not automatically mean the accounting is correct.
CPA says “clean the books first”
We prepare financials that are actually usable for tax preparation.
The old file cannot be trusted
We can evaluate whether to repair the existing file or rebuild from source records.
What we do
Four ways we work with you.
01
Accounting & Monthly Close
Monthly bookkeeping, reconciliations, Balance Sheet review, P&L review, payroll reconciliation, closing review, and financial reporting.
Target: monthly financials by the 20th of the following month, assuming required access, statements, and client responses are received timely.
02
Cleanup & Reconstruction
QuickBooks cleanup, catch-up accounting, historical bookkeeping, multi-year reconstruction, and rebuilding books from scratch.
Long historical periods are workable, including 7 to 8 years, when source records support it.
03
Tax Planning
Year-round tax projections and planning for business owners: estimated taxes, entity and S-Corp considerations, reasonable compensation, retirement planning support, timing of income and deductions, and year-end decisions.
04
Tax Preparation
Preparation and support for Form 1040, Form 1065, Form 1120-S, and Form 1120.
The bookkeeping and the tax return stay connected instead of starting over with a separate provider.
Tax, handled early
Your tax return shouldn’t be the first time you think about taxes.
Tax Planning
We look ahead during the year, estimate the tax impact of decisions, and identify planning opportunities before filing time.
Tax Preparation
When filing time arrives, the accounting should already be understood, reconciled, and ready to support the return.
- Plan
- Execute
- File
Growing businesses and corporates
For businesses that need more than a bookkeeper.
Ashmore works as accounting operations support, not data entry. We focus on whether the numbers hold together, not just whether every transaction has a category.
- Month-end close
- Balance Sheet control
- Management financials
- Multi-account and multi-entity accounting
- Payroll reconciliation
- Loans and liabilities
- Historical cleanup
- Cash-flow reporting
- Accounting quality review
- Tax coordination
Pricing
Clear scope. Upfront pricing. Fewer surprises.
Monthly Accounting
Custom monthly fixed fee
Based on transaction volume, number of accounts, complexity, and reporting requirements.
Cleanup / Catch-Up
Fixed project quote where scope can be determined
Books are reviewed first so the client is not guessing how many hours the cleanup may take.
Tax Preparation
Upfront fixed quote
Based on forms, entities, states, and complexity.
Tax Planning
Fixed-fee planning engagement or quoted scope
Based on the planning work required.
You approve the scope and pricing before work begins.
Free Books X-Ray
Not sure what is wrong with your books? Don’t diagnose them yourself.
Provide the accounting file or accountant / read-only access. Ashmore reviews the current condition and identifies major issues.
What you receive: what we found, what should be corrected, recommended scope, expected timeline, and a custom quote where scope can be defined.
The review is based on the access and records provided. It is designed to surface the major issues, not to replace a full cleanup engagement.
What the X-Ray looks at
- Bank and credit-card reconciliations
- Balance Sheet
- A/R and A/P
- Payroll liabilities
- Loans
- Equity
- Opening balances
- Uncategorized or suspicious activity
- Historical issues
- Tax readiness

FAQ
Common questions
If your question is not here, send it through the quote form. You will hear back within one business day.
I do not know what is wrong with my books. Can you still help?
Yes. That is exactly what the free Books X-Ray is for. Provide read-only access, and we review the current condition, identify the major issues, and recommend a scope before anything is quoted.
Can you rebuild several years of bookkeeping?
Yes. Multi-year reconstruction, including 7 to 8 years, is workable when bank, card, payroll, loan, merchant, and prior tax records are available to rebuild from.
Do you charge hourly or fixed fee?
Fixed fee wherever the scope can be defined. Monthly accounting is a custom monthly fixed fee, cleanup is a fixed project quote after the books are reviewed, and tax preparation is quoted upfront. You approve scope and pricing before work begins.
Can you handle bookkeeping and the tax return?
Yes. Accounting, tax planning, and tax preparation for Forms 1040, 1065, 1120-S, and 1120 are handled by one team, so the books and the return stay connected.
Do you offer tax planning?
Yes. Year-round projections and planning for business owners, including estimated taxes, entity and S-Corp considerations, reasonable compensation, retirement planning support, and year-end timing decisions.
Do you offer CFO services?
Yes. Fractional CFO support on a fixed monthly retainer: management financials with commentary, cash-flow forecasting, margin and KPI review, decision modeling, lender and investor packages, and a monthly review call, all built on books we reconcile and tax we plan.
How quickly do you respond?
Within one business day.
When are monthly financials delivered?
Our target is the 20th of the following month, provided the required access, statements, and client responses are received timely.
Do you work with QuickBooks Online / Xero?
Yes. QuickBooks Online is our primary platform, and we also work in Xero and other U.S. accounting platforms.
What access do you need for a Books X-Ray?
Accountant or read-only access to your accounting file is usually enough. If access is not possible, an export or backup of the file can work instead.
