Pricing
Clear scope. Upfront pricing. Fewer surprises.
Ashmore Books prices work as fixed fees wherever the scope can be defined. The books are reviewed first, the scope is written down, and you approve the scope and pricing before work begins.
How each service is priced
Four services, four clear pricing models.
Monthly Accounting
Custom monthly fixed feeBased on transaction volume, number of bank and credit-card accounts, complexity (payroll, inventory, multi-entity), and reporting requirements. The fee is set after a review of the file and revisited if the business changes materially.
Cleanup / Catch-Up / Reconstruction
Fixed project quote where the scope can be determinedBooks are reviewed first through the free Books X-Ray so you are not guessing how many hours the cleanup may take. The quote states the periods covered, the accounts included, and the deliverables.
Tax Preparation
Upfront fixed quoteBased on the forms involved (1040, 1065, 1120-S, 1120), the number of entities and owners, states, and complexity such as rentals, K-1s, or multi-state activity.
Tax Planning
Fixed-fee planning engagement or quoted scopeBased on the planning work required: a single year-end review, quarterly projections, or an entity and compensation analysis.
You approve the scope and pricing before work begins.
If the scope changes during an engagement, for example because additional accounts or years are discovered, you hear about it before the work is done, with a revised quote to approve.
- Written scope with every quote
- No hourly billing surprises where a fixed fee applies
- Review before quoting, so the number reflects the actual file
- Changes in scope raised early and re-approved
- Separate quotes for accounting and tax so each is clear
What affects the price
The factors we look at.
Volume and accounts
Monthly transaction count and the number of bank, credit-card, loan, and payment-processor accounts.
Condition of the books
Whether the file is current and reliable, or needs cleanup or reconstruction before recurring work can start.
Complexity
Payroll, sales tax, inventory, multiple entities, intercompany activity, and reporting needs.
Tax profile
Entity type, number of owners, states, rentals, and any prior-year filings that are still open.
CFO Services
CFO services are a fixed monthly retainer.
Fractional CFO support is priced by the size and complexity of the business, the reporting and forecasts required, and the review cadence, usually combined with monthly accounting and tax planning. See CFO Services for what is included.
